What our classroom looks like

In reception, we love to share a story. Our favourites are: 

• - The run away pea
• - Lost and found
• - Snail and the Whale
• - The Gruffalo
• - The tiger who came to tea

In reception we love mark making and using a range of tools. We use Little Wandle to learn to read and write words which develops into captions and sentences across the year. 

In reception we have multiple spaces to role-play. The home role play area is always available to use and create home experiences. We also develop a role play area linked to what we are learning in class. 

In reception we are creative! We use a range of materials to design and make our masterpieces that we get to bring home and share with our families. 

In our outside garden we engage in large scale play including sand, water, block building, music and many ways to get dirty. Getting dirty and imaginative play  is what we do.
