Welcome to Year 1!
My name is Miss Clark and I am Year 1’s class teacher. We are lucky to have lots of amazing adults in our class to support our children. Scroll down to see Year 1 hard at work.
We are Miss Birbeck, Mrs Thomson and Miss Givens and we support the children in Year 1.
On a Tuesday morning, Mrs Fenwick is our teacher.

PE days
Our PE days are Monday and Tuesday and we wear blue/black shorts or trousers, a white t-shirt and trainers.
Earrings need to be removed for safety or covered with tape.
Home learning
We need to complete 30 minutes of Lexia to support our reading and Numbots to help with our maths. This should be completed independently with minimal support and supervision.
We are given spellings on a Monday which should be practised, and activities completed by Friday that week. Sometimes we may need adult support to help us practise and to test that we have learned our spellings.
Reading is important and we must read at least 3 times per week at home with an adult. Adults need to write about how we read e.g was there a word we were stuck on, did we read fluently, did we understand the meaning of the words, and could we answer questions about events and characters?
We bring reading books into school every day to help us with our reading. If we put them into the Reading Book Box an adult will change our book, respond to comments and count our reads for the week.
