Class and teacher intro
My name is Miss Clark and I am Year 1’s class teacher.
We are lucky to have lots of amazing adults in our class to support our children.
We have Miss Brown, Mrs Thomson and Ms Birbeck.
On a Wednesday morning, Mrs Fenwick is our teacher.
Which yard and start times?
Year 1 enter and leave the school using the KS1 yard and start at 8.50am.
We leave school at 3.10pm
At lunchtime, we go to lunch at 12pm and eat in the hall with Reception and Year 2. We go out to play afterwards until 1pm. Then we go back to class to continue our afternoon learning.
Our lunchtime supervisors are Mrs Smith and Miss Brown.
Our PE days are Monday and Tuesday.
We wear blue/black shorts or trousers, a white t-shirt and trainers.
Earrings need to be removed for safety or covered with tape.
We need to complete 30 minutes of Lexia to support our reading and Numbots to help with our maths. This should be completed independently with minimal support and supervision.
We are given spellings on a Monday which should be practised, and activities completed by Friday that week. Sometimes we may need adult support to help us practise and to test that we have learned our spellings.
Reading is important and we must read at least 3 times per week at home with an adult. Adults need to write about how we read e.g was there a word we were stuck on, did we read fluently, did we understand the meaning of the words, and could we answer questions about events and characters?
We bring reading books into school every day to help us with our reading. If we put them into the Reading Book Box an adult will change our book, respond to comments and count our reads for the week.
